festivids letter (in progress)
Oct. 25th, 2020 11:02 amI really love character studies, ensemble vids or trailer like videos. I have a weakness for voice overs, so bonus points if you decide to include those (but they definitely aren't neccessary to make a video that i'll enjoy, so no worries if you don't like using them)
The only kind of videos that i am not really into are ones that focus completely on shipping, especially if it is a non canon ship,
I like all of the sources i chose, so i will be happy with any videos about these sources, but I will try to give a short description of all of the series/movies and what i like about them.
Als de dijken breken | The swell
This mini series (about 3 hours long) focuses on what would happen if a big storm happened that would break the dutch/belgian coastal defenses. At first everyone is underestimating the danger and doesn't believe it is possible for the dams to break, but they do and parts of the belgian coastal region and the entire Randstad (densely populated region in the Netherlands that is below sea level and where around 3.5 million people live) get flooded.
This is probably my favourite thing that I have watched this year, and it doesn't seem like there is any content about it online, so i would love any video about this. My favourite characters are Britt, Sonja and Samir, but I also find all of the other characters interesting.
Sameblod | Sami Blood (2016)
Elle-Marja is a teenager during the 1930's and sent to a boarding school where sami children are forced to learn the swedish language and culture.
It is a really good movie, that focuses on a piece of history that we ignore far too often.
Fremvandrerne | Beforeigners
I am not really sure how to describe this show, because it is a bit of a mix of everything, but it is definitely interesting and fun. Unfortunately there is only one season so far, but it has been renewed, so we should get another one in the future.
Fucking Åmål | Show me love/give me love
Apparently there are no decent english trailers about this movie.
It is a movie from 1998 about some teenagers living in Åmål a smallish town in sweden. It is basically your average coming of age movie, except the love story is about two girls which just makes it a lot better.
This movie was really important to me when i was a teenager, so a video about it would definitely be cool. I know that at the beginning i mentioned that i am not a fan of shippy videos, but that doesn't apply for this movie, because this movie really is just about two teenage girls falling in love with each other and that is cool.
Hotel Beau Séjour

Kato Hoeven finds out that she has died but can still walk around, and some people can also see her. She sets out to find out who murdered her.
I haven't finished this show yet, so i will update this section later.
Higher ground tv (2000)
I request this show every year. This show has been so important to me, and i have rewatched it a lot. It is definitely one of my all time favourite shows.
Daisy Lipenowski is without a doubt my favourite character. So I would love anything focusing on her, but at the same time i would also love anything focusing on one of the other characters. I love all of the characters for different reasons. I obviously love scott, shelby and juliette as characters, but I also love Ezra, Auggie and Kat for whom there is basically no content whatsoever out there. So a video giving them some love would be amazing as well.
The only thing that I would prefer is for the video to not put the focus on the adults or on the romantic relationship between shelby and scott, because i think there are so many more interesting parts of the show. But honestly you can't really go wrong with this show, because i love it so much, and any sort of content would make me happy.
